Yes! A functional tongue/lip/buccal tie assessment is part of every consultation. Based on what I find, I will give you options for mitigation and an oral habilitation toolkit to improve your baby’s ability to breastfeed.

Yes! Mitigating oral ties can take time. To fully support you through a tongue/lip/cheek tie release (frenectomy), I require a least one visit prior to release and two follow-ups after release. In these visits, I will give you an oral habilitation toolkit to improve your baby’s ability to breastfeed and ensure proper wound healing.

Feed your baby 1.5 hours prior to the visit. No need to clean or tidy, but I do ask that you secure animals for the duration of our visit.

Absolutely! Partners and other support persons are encouraged to attend.

My goal is to support you in whatever way that looks like for you. As a lactation consultant, my interest in helping women achieve their breastfeeding goals, but every woman’s breastfeeding goals are unique! I will counsel you on the many options available to you for feeding your baby. The final decision is for you and your family to make.

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, which is an allied health care professional serving the mother/baby dyad by supporting breastfeeding. IBCLCs are the experts in infant feeding. I have many years experience breastfeeding my own children. I have also completed a 2.5 year apprenticeship where I accumulated over 500 hours of direct care to mothers and babies.
Additionally, I have training in the Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad (A Masterclass for the IBCLC), which includes training in tongue tie evaluation and rehabilitation. -
